Code Change Summary: A revised title and scope of Article 625 clarifies what the article covers.

Article 625 now covers more than just the actual charging system for electric vehicles (EV’s).

With the 2020 addition of electric vehicle power export (EVPE) equipment and bidirectional current flow equipment, a change to the title and scope of Article 625 was needed to clarify that more than just charging equipment is covered in the article.

New technology allows bidirectional current flow from the EV to the premises wiring system. This permits an EV to export power back into the grid once the EV charging is complete.
