The image shows a typical one-line diagram for a new construction project that is supplied by a 120/208V, 3-phase, 4-wire, WYE connected 800-amp electrical service. There are five electric panels, a standby generator and an automatic transfer switch (ATS).

On the one-line diagram, each panelboard as well as the ATS has a fault point designation which is explained in detail on the chart to the right, which is also part of the plans. In the event that the electrician is unsure about what type of wiring method to install, the chart to the right will provide additional details.
