032 Location of outside feeder disconnecting means.
(2) The disconnecting means required by NEC® 225.31(B) must be provided to disconnect all ungrounded conductors that supply or pass through a building/structure in accordance with the requirements of NEC® 225.31(B) with the following exceptions.
(a) Outside location: A feeder disconnecting means, including that required by NEC® 700, 701, or 702 for a generator, is considered in the building if installed on the outside of the building/structure or within sight and within 15 feet of the building/ structure. The building disconnecting means may supply only one building/structure unless the secondary building(s)/structure(s) has a separate building disconnecting means meeting the requirements of the NEC® and this subsection. The disconnecting means must have an identification plate with at least one-half-inch high letters identifying:
(i) The building/structure served; and
(ii) Its function as the building/structure main disconnect(s).
(b) Inside location: The feeder disconnecting means must comply with NEC® 225.31(B).
036 Suitable for use as service equipment.
(3) A generator disconnecting means installed per (2)(a) of this section, is not required to be suitable for use as service equipment.
(4) A generator disconnecting means installed per subsection (2)(b) of this section, is not required to be suitable for use as service equipment when there is a feeder disconnecting means, located elsewhere on the premises, with overcurrent protection sized for feed-er conductors.
