The Electrical Contractors' Licensing Board is responsible for licensing and regulating electrical contractors. The board meets regularly to consider applications for licensure, to review disciplinary cases, and to conduct informal hearings relating to licensure and discipline. The board engages in rulemaking to implement the provisions set forth in its statutes and conducts other general business, as necessary.

Division 61G6 of the Electrical Contractors Licensing Board contains several chapters which provide rules for those engaged in electrical contracting and is part of the Florida Administrative Code.

61G6-3.004 Registration of Limited or Restricted Competency Licenses.

(1) Local restricted or limited master electrician competency licenses may be registered only as a limited specialty electrical contractor.

(2) Registered limited specialty electrical contracting scope shall be limited to the contracting activities covered by the locally issued certificate of competency.
