Code Change Summary: The definition of an “Electric Sign” has been expanded to include other types of signs besides those that are just electrically illuminated.
The previous definition of an electric sign only included signs that were electrically illuminated and left out those that may not be illuminated, but might have other electrically operated features such as moving parts designed to grab someone’s attention.
The revised definition now includes signs that are electrically illuminated and/or electrically operated.
