Code Change Summary: The tables providing the summary of branch circuit requirements have been revised.
Section 210.24 provides a summary of branch circuit requirements in Table form. These requirements are for circuits that have two or more outlets or receptacles, other than the receptacle circuits covered in Sections 210.11(C)(1), (C)(2), and (C)(3) which apply to dwelling unit small appliance, laundry, and bathroom circuits.
In the 2023 NEC®, Table 210.24 has been split into two tables as follows:
These tables provide only a summary of minimum requirements. For the specific requirements applying to branch circuits see Sections 210.19, 210.20, and 210.21.
The changes to allow 10-amp branch circuits in the 2023 NEC® warranted the need to revise and split the tables.
