The Instructor:
Don Hursey retired as Durham City/County Senior Electrical Inspector after 33 years of service. He is a licensed electrical contractor for North Carolina. He received the “Instructor of the Year” Award in 2004 from the NC Board of Examiners of Electrical Contractors, and in 2008 he received the North Carolina “Electrical Inspector of the Year” Award from the NC Chapter of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors (IAEI). Don is a member of the North Carolina Ellis Cannady Chapter of IAEI Education Committee and NFPA 72 Committee. He is also a North Carolina State Fair Electrical Apprenticeship Contest Judge. Mr. Hursey is also an instructor for NFPA, UL, Southeastern OSHA Training Institute Education Center and Capital Electric. - Don is the Most Requested Teacher in North Carolina.

The (AM) Morning Class:
The purpose of this 4 credit-hour live in-person electrical continuing education class is to give you a better understanding of the installation & inspection requirements of the National Electric Code and North Carolina amendments to the NEC. This course provides guidance to attendees on how the 2020 code changes will affect standard electrical industry practices related to installation and the inspection of electrical equipment and wiring methods in NC. Upon completion of this course, the qualified individual will have a better understanding of NC amendments for both the 2017 and 2020 NEC. This course provides 4 hours 'Classroom' credit for NCBEEC and NCDOI.The (AM) Morning Class: This presentation covers North Carolina amendments to the 2017 and 2020 NEC from chapters 1 through 3 and examines the 2020 code changes related to NEC articles 300 through 314.

The (PM) Afternoon Class:
The purpose of this 4 credit-hour live in-person electrical continuing education class is to give you a better understanding of the installation & inspection requirements of the National Electric Code and North Carolina amendments to the NEC. This class examines the 2020 code changes related to NEC articles 300 through Chapter 8. This course provides guidance to attendees on how the 2020 code changes will affect standard electrical industry practices related to installation and the inspection of electrical equipment and wiring methods in NC. Upon completion of this course, the qualified individual will have a better understanding of the 2017 and 2020 NEC. In addition, the course will cover 2020 code changes related to NEC Articles 320, 334, 337, 338, 344, 350, 358, 366, 392, 404, 404, 406, 408, 410, 422, 440, 445, 450, 511, 514, 517, 518, 590, 620, 680, 690, 700, 705, 725, and 800. This course provides 4 hours 'Classroom' credit for NCBEEC and NCDOI.The (PM) Afternoon Class: This presentation covers the 2020 code changes related to articles 320 through 800 and covers the 2017 and 2020 NC amendments pertaining to those NEC code articles.
